I have a learning disability should I tell my new boss?

I am bad at retaining information and I have two job propositions to be a diesel mechanic or an istant but I have to learn computers microsofts. I am not good at math but I love working on trucks. My wife thinks I should be an istant so I don't get hurt on the job. What should I do?
