What could be causing pain in the lower groin area?

Over the last couple days I have had some slight pain and discomfort in my lower left side groin area that also slightly hurts on the backside of my upper left leg area as well. I have felt my left testicle and there is no pain in that area (thank god lol). The pain is coming a few inches above my left area and the backside of my upper left leg. It's nothing unbearable, but annoying to say the least. Could I have possibly pulled something? any ideas as to what this could be is appreciated. thanks!
